CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE – SLAUGHTER MAN AND ANIMAL WELFARE
In collaboration with the University of Bristol Animal Welfare Training department we are able to offer Halal slaughter qualifications for individuals wanting to work in the meat industry. The qualification is an NVQ level 2 program in the slaughter of animals, specific to each individual species. An initial theory session is followed by a period of practical training in an approved abattoir, facilitated by CHECT, and completed by a final practical assessment of competency. Once qualified the individual is able to apply for a full slaughter licence (Certificate of Competence) to enable them to work in any approved abattoir in the UK, for the species they are competent in
